Job Summary

The HR Manager is responsible for managing the full spectrum of human resources functions in the organization. The HR Manager will work closely with business stakeholders, department heads, and employees to ensure the effective management of the workforce and the alignment of HR initiatives with the company’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely employee compensation
  • Collaborate with leaders and department heads to forecast staffing needs and align talent acquisition with business goals
  • Manage the full recruiting lifecycle by sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding candidates, focusing on logistics and retail front-line positions
  • Oversee the company’s performance appraisal process to drive employee development and retention of top talent
  • Develop and maintain a fair, competitive, and motivating compensation and benefits structure that supports business objectives and enhances employee satisfaction
  • Streamline and maintain records of monthly incentives and commissions, regularly reviewing schemes to ensure alignment with business goals
  • Identify employee learning and development needs in collaboration with managers to build workforce capabilities aligned with organizational objectives
  • Apply employee relations strategies to foster a positive work environment and resolve conflicts, grievances, and complaints fairly and effectively
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws, including employment contracts, benefits, and workplace rights, to mitigate legal risks
  • Oversee management of company insurance policies by coordinating renewals, reviewing terms, and liaising with providers to optimize coverage and cost-efficiency
  • Align HR initiatives with the organization’s strategic objectives to support long-term business growth
  • Manage the HR department budget to implement cost-effective HR solutions
  • Prepare and present HR reports to management, providing insights on staffing, turnover, employee performance, and other key metrics
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by Management
Required competencies and certifications
  • Strong knowledge of local Employment Act and compliance requirements, including anti-discrimination laws and TAFEP guidelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for data analysis and reporting, PowerPoint for presentations, and Word for policy documentation and communication
Preferred competencies and qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in human resources or HR executive roles, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial position, preferably in Retail or Service Industry
  • Ability to analyze HR challenges, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions in areas such as performance management, employee relations, and retention
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with employees at all organizational levels
  • Business acumen to analyze data and make informed HR decisions
  • Immediate availability is advantageous
