Job Summary
We are looking for you if you have experience and certification in veterinary nursing and radiography to support our rehabilitation caseload. You will assist in patient handling, care, therapy prep, and also perform and manage X-ray imaging as needed.This is a dynamic role for someone who is hands-on, compassionate, detail-oriented, and ready to work closely with our veterinary team and therapists in a progressive, fast-paced clinic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Clinical Support: Assist in the day-to-day clinical operations, including patient prep, monitoring, and post-treatment care.
- Radiography: Safely operate and manage X-ray equipment, take high-quality diagnostic images as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Patient Handling: Support physical therapies by handling and positioning patients calmly and securely, especially during treatments like hydrotherapy and therapeutic exercises.
- Rehabilitation Assistance: Work alongside therapists to implement therapy plans, including massage, range-of-motion exercises, and equipment usage.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, noting treatments, responses, and imaging results.
- Client Communication: Provide guidance and information to pet owners regarding procedures, aftercare, and rehabilitation protocols.
- Inventory & Equipment Care: Ensure therapy and imaging equipment is maintained, clean, and used safely.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the veterinary and rehab teams to ensure seamless care and follow-up.
- Education: Certificate or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing from a recognised institution.
- Radiography Skills: Proven ability to operate X-ray equipment and interpret basic imaging results. Certification or formal training in veterinary radiography is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years working in a veterinary clinic or hospital. Prior experience in a rehabilitation, surgical, or imaging-focused setting is advantageous.
- Animal Handling: Strong skills in safe, compassionate handling of animals, especially during therapy or imaging.
- Calm, patient, and confident around injured or mobility-limited animals
- Strong attention to detail and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Team-oriented with a proactive and positive attitude
- Comfortable with physically demanding tasks and flexible work responsibilities
- Passionate about animal welfare and interested in the rehab and recovery process
- 14 days paid annual leave
