Position Overview:
TheVice President, Business Development, IUSwill lead the development and execution of the company's growth strategies to achieve business objectives, drive market expansion, and increase profitability. This leadership role requires a highly strategic, results-driven executive who excels in identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and influencing the direction of the company's growth initiatives.As part of the executive leadership team, the VP will work closely with senior leaders to shape the company's long-term vision and competitive positioning in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision:
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive company growth across key markets and industries.
- Identify and assess new business opportunities, potential partnerships, and emerging market trends.
- Collaborate with the C-suite executives and department heads to define the company's long-term business and growth objectives.
- Lead the creation and implementation of high-level strategies to achieve organizational goals while aligning with overall business direction.
Business Development & Partnerships:
- Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue strategic alliances, joint ventures, and new market expansion opportunities.
- Lead negotiations and close high-value deals, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to build and maintain the company's network and market presence.
Market & Competitive Intelligence:
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform business strategies and decisions.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new growth areas.
- Deliver actionable insights to executive leadership and other departments on market conditions and future opportunities.
Financial & Performance Metrics:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for business development and growth initiatives, monitoring performance and outcomes.
- Drive revenue growth through new business opportunities and expansion of existing accounts.
- Manage and allocate the business development budget efficiently to maximize ROI and achieve targeted growth.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing business development team, setting clear goals, performance expectations, and growth paths.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Recruit and develop talent to build a strong, capable team.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment of business development initiatives with overall company objectives.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication across the business development team and with other departments.
- Regularly report on progress, results, and business development activities to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- At least 10+ years of experience in business development, strategy, and corporate growth roles, with a proven track record of success in driving business expansion and revenue growth.
- Experience in [insert relevant industry] and a deep understanding of market trends and dynamics is preferred.
- Significant experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
