Industrial Equipment Project Engineer (AutoCAD)
We are an established industrial engineering company delivering dust collection, fume extraction, and related systems to operating factories. Our projects involve real-world constraints, live sites, and close coordination across engineering, procurement, installation, and service.
This role is for engineers who are comfortable owning a project in full, from technical planning through installation and handover.
Role Overview
As a Project Engineer, you will be the single point of responsibility for assigned projects. This includes technical design intent, coordination with suppliers, procurement follow-up, site execution, and final delivery.
You will work with engineering support staff and site supervisors, but accountability for decisions, timelines, and outcomes remains with you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take end-to-end ownership of assigned projects from kickoff to completion
- Draft equipment and ducting layouts in AutoCAD.
- Produce fabrication drawings for workshop and site use.
- Review and interpret electrical control panel diagrams.
- Plan and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Coordinate procurement of parts and equipment, including supplier follow-up
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Conduct site visits and ensure projects run to schedule.
- Enforce safety and quality standards during installation.
- Document progress and prepare project reports.
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams and customers
Working hours: Mon-Fri, 08:00 - 17:30
How Success Is Measured
Success in this role is based on:
- Projects delivered safely, accurately, and on schedule
- Sound technical and commercial judgment
- Effective coordination with suppliers and site teams
- Clear ownership and follow-through on details
- Ability to resolve issues without escalation when possible
Who This Role Is Suited For
This role suits engineers who:
- Prefer full visibility and ownership rather than narrow task scopes
- Are comfortable making decisions and standing by them
- Pay attention to details, including parts, drawings, and site conditions
- Can balance technical ideals with practical constraints
- Communicate clearly with both suppliers and internal teams
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (essential).
- 2–3 years of experience in project engineering, HVAC, ducting, or construction.
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Comfortable coordinating with suppliers and installation teams
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
- Clear ownership over meaningful engineering projects
- Exposure to the full project lifecycle, not just a single function
- Support from engineering staff and site supervisors
- Direct access to management and faster development of judgment
- A stable role in a long-established and profitable SME
This role carries responsibility. In return, it offers visibility, trust, and professional growth.
Final Note
We are looking for engineers who value accountability and want to build long-term capability in industrial engineering. If you prefer to see your work through from start to finish, this role may be a good fit.
