Key Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for tool setting, tool length and radius offset setting for Tsugami Mill-Turn machines.
  2. Set and manage tool offsets, tool life, and tool numbering.
  3. Ensure correct setup of spindle, B-axis, C-axis, and live tooling.
  4. Check Fanuc / EIA programs against drawings before production.
  5. Conduct first article setup and trial cutting.
  6. Adjust cutting parameters to ensure stable machining.
  7. Install and align chucks, collets, soft jaws, fixtures, and centers.
  8. Set work offsets (G54–G59) and ensure proper alignment and runout control.
Key Competencies & Skills
  1. Measure first-off parts using appropriate measuring instruments.
  2. Ensure parts meet drawing and tolerance requirements.
  3. Communicate with QC on dimensional or machining issues.
  4. Experience with Tsugami Mill-Turn machines (e.g., Integrex series).
  5. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  6. Strong setup, alignment, and troubleshooting skills.
Common Qualifications & Physical Requirements
  1. Proven experience as a Turn mill operator or in a similar machining role.
  2. High school diploma or technical certification/apprenticeship.
  3. Ability to stand for long periods and handle manual material handling.
  4. Good communication skills with production and QC teams.
  5. Support operators during production for technical issues.
  6. Troubleshoot machining problems such as tool breakage, surface finish issues, or dimensional drift.
  7. Provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  8. Ensure machine setup complies with safety standards.
  9. Assist with daily machine checks and basic maintenance checks.
  10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of setup and tool areas.
