Turn Mill – Setter and Operator

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for tool setting, tool length and radius offset setting for Tsugami Mill-Turn machines.
- Set and manage tool offsets, tool life, and tool numbering.
- Ensure correct setup of spindle, B-axis, C-axis, and live tooling.
- Check Fanuc / EIA programs against drawings before production.
- Conduct first article setup and trial cutting.
- Adjust cutting parameters to ensure stable machining.
- Install and align chucks, collets, soft jaws, fixtures, and centers.
- Set work offsets (G54–G59) and ensure proper alignment and runout control.
- Measure first-off parts using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Ensure parts meet drawing and tolerance requirements.
- Communicate with QC on dimensional or machining issues.
- Experience with Tsugami Mill-Turn machines (e.g., Integrex series).
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong setup, alignment, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proven experience as a Turn mill operator or in a similar machining role.
- High school diploma or technical certification/apprenticeship.
- Ability to stand for long periods and handle manual material handling.
- Good communication skills with production and QC teams.
- Support operators during production for technical issues.
- Troubleshoot machining problems such as tool breakage, surface finish issues, or dimensional drift.
- Provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure machine setup complies with safety standards.
- Assist with daily machine checks and basic maintenance checks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of setup and tool areas.
