Objectives of the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Finance Manager to co‑manage the finance and accounting functions for our Singapore entities. In addition, the role will be responsible for Taiwan financials, which are managed, closed, and reported out of Singapore within this team.

Given Singapore’s role as the logistical and operational hub for APAC, this position represents a key finance role within APAC operations, requiring close interaction with multiple regional entities as well as German Headquarters.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal, hands‑on role in overseeing daily finance operations, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, statutory reporting, and tax filings in line with Singapore GAAP and IFRS.

The position is designed with a clear long‑term objective for the Assistant Finance Manager to steadily assume full operational finance ownership, following a structured transition and knowledge‑transfer phase, as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co‑manage the full scope of finance and accounting operations for the two Singapore legal entities and Taiwan operations, alongside the Finance Manager, with responsibilities expected to expand over time as part of a structured transition.
  • Take increasing responsibility for the end‑to‑end monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in accordance with Singapore GAAP and IFRS.
  • Oversee daily finance operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations, for both Singapore and Taiwan scopes.
  • Review and approve journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring high standards of first‑time quality and audit readiness.
  • Manage and coordinate statutory and tax reporting requirements, including quarterly GST filings, annual GST reconciliation, and statutory financial statements.
  • Act as a key finance counterpart for external audits, coordinating audit activities, preparing supporting schedules, and ensuring timely resolution of audit matters.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital, and prepare cash flow projections with recommendations on funding or treasury‑related actions where required.
  • Assist in developing and managing the company’s annual budget, forecasts, and periodic updates, supporting management with transparent and reliable financial information.
  • Conduct financial, variance, and cost analyses to provide actionable insights and decision support to management.
  • Uphold, implement, and continuously improve financial policies, internal controls, and procedures, ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate directives.
  • Lead and mentor a Singapore‑based finance team of three employees, promoting accountability, development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Act as a key finance interface for APAC entities, ensuring alignment, transparency, and consistent financial standards across the region.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with German Headquarters, providing clear, structured financial information and explanations in the context of regional operations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to provide finance guidance and support business initiatives and projects.
  • Support the gradual transition of full operational finance ownership, stepping into broader responsibility in line with demonstrated capability and business understanding.
  • Perform additional finance‑related duties as assigned, aligned with the scope and seniority of the role.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA), with a Master’s degree being an advantage.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in financial accounting.
  • Strong practical understanding of IFRS and Singapore GAAP.
  • Proven experience supporting statutory audits, GST, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience working in a German or other European multinational enterprise is an advantage.
  • Exposure to multi‑entity and cross‑border finance environments is desirable.

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Clear understanding that this role represents a key finance position within APAC operations, based in Singapore as a regional hub.
  • Comfortable communicating with multiple entities across APAC, navigating cultural and organizational diversity with professionalism.
  • Confident and structured communicator with German Headquarters, able to explain financial matters, progress, and issues clearly and transparently.
  • Proven ability to operate independently in a regional matrix environment, balancing local execution with regional and HQ expectations.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP and/or Business Intelligence tools is a strong advantage.
  • Mature, professional demeanor with a proactive and accountable attitude.
