Finance General Manager
KIRIN HOLDINGS SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is the regional headquarters of Kirin Holdings Company, Limited, a globally recognized and publicly listed beverage and pharmaceutical group headquartered in Japan. As part of the Kirin Group’s strategic expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, the Singapore office plays a key role in regional coordination, financial governance, and business development across multiple markets, including Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Oceania.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance General Manager to lead and manage the full spectrum of finance operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, regulatory compliance, budgeting, cash flow management, and supporting strategic decision-making across the region.The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a lean organization of 8 employees, with direct supervision of 5 staff members.This role reports directly to the Managing Director and works closely with the global headquarters in Japan, as well as with external auditors and regulatory bodies in Singapore and overseas jurisdictions.
Job Description- Oversee all projects and the operational infrastructure (including accounting, finance, HR, legal, sales and business development), closely in liaison with the HQ in Japan.
- Managing Kirin group's daily business of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages over SEA region and India, by closely communicating and directing each regional offices and partners. This position will oversee and manage 3 entities over the entire region, including Financial oversight and coordination in Singapore, Myanmar and India.
- Monitor and analyze financial statements, budgets, and other performance indicators to assess the financial standing and position of the organization. The role is also responsible for regular reporting, including the preparation and submission of financial reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to the headquarters in Japan, a listed company. The position additionally requires working knowledge of internal controls and compliance under SOX or J-SOX frameworks.
- Provide financial and strategic support for management accounting and investment analysis across Kirin Holdings’ regional alcoholic beverage business. Responsibilities include evaluating brand and market performance, cost structure analysis, ROI support for key initiatives, and financial due diligence for potential M&A opportunities.
- Oversee group-level cash management, including cash flow forecasting, intercompany funding, treasury operations, and liquidity planning across multiple entities and jurisdictions, to ensure optimal capital allocation and financial stability.
- Responsible for preparing and delivering financial and operational reports to senior management at the Japan headquarters, a publicly listed parent company, ensuring alignment with group reporting standards and strategic objectives.
- More than 25 years of experience in alcohol and/or non-alcohol beverage industry, of which at least 10 years in the management level position. Successful candidate must be in the industry as management roll in the last 5 years.
- More than 5 years of experience in alcohol and/or non-alcohol beverage industry engaging wholesale business.
- More than 20 years of experience as a Finance Manager or equivalent in a globally operating listed company in a bevarage industry, with a proven track record of directly reporting financial results, forecasts, and strategic insights to senior management at oversea headquarters.
- Over 20 years of experience in audit, consolidated financial reporting and disclosure documents based on IFRS accounting standards in a listed company, as a general management role overseeing the overall management of the entity or finance/ accounting function, including responsibility for internal controls under SOX or J-SOX.
- Experience in accounting within a factory, including expertise in fixed asset accounting and product costing.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transaction services or corporate finance, with a solid understanding of corporate finance principles and involvement in cross-border M&A or international business alliance projects.
- High proficiency in both verbal and written English is essential. Japanese language skills (JLPT N1 or equivalent) are an added advantage for stakeholder coordination as an in-charge/managerial role, including reporting to the listed parent company in Japan.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in preparing statutory financial statements in India, Myanmar, and Singapore.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Banking & Finance, Economics, Law or equivalent
