The job description

We are seeking a strategic leader to shape and drive the portfolio risk strategy and management across the Asia Pacific region.

You bring proven expertise in risk underwriting, having successfully contributed to the growth of Coface’s Mid-Market business. Additionally, you have a strong track record of mentoring and developing risk underwriters within your team.

In this role, you will be responsible for

Strategy:

  • Develop plans at Regional and Country level to support Coface strategy of Mid-Market growth
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Country Managers to continuously manage exposure within identified Coface KPIs
  • Monitor and analyse portfolios of risk at both country and regional level to maintain Coface profitability
  • Participate on Regional Underwriting Committee for Mid-Market opportunities

Credit risk analysis:

  • Hold and exercise a delegation of EUR 20m
  • Coach and develop risk underwriters by sharing expertise
  • Analyze information on debtors as provided by internal systems (Atlas, Atlas Info) in order to set credit limits.
  • Complete Maximum Standard Exposure (MSE) reports to propose a maximum ceiling to be set on a buyer or a group.
  • Maintain quality, productivity and process time standards set by Group risk underwriting department.

Monitoring:

  • Review credit limits upon any additional information (negative report, extension of credit terms,
  • Respond to deterioration of buyer's environment: sectors or country, press clippings).
  • Determine the Extension Due Date (EDD) in co-operation with the Claims department.

Customer relationship:

  • Inform and explain credit restrictions to senior stakeholders, brokers and policyholders when granting, reducing or cancelling limits, where required.
  • Network with Enhanced Information, Debt Collection, CRM and Sales departments to ensure an optimal account management process flow within defined SLAs.

Commercial support:

  • Review credit limit escalations from local teams
  • Appraise restrictive decisions, low credit scores and any other relevant data prior to the renewal of contracts.
  • Participate in meetings with prospects, policyholders, brokers and banks to ensure business acquisition, retention or renewal, as appropriate.
Who are you?
  • Degree qualified in a business-related discipline
  • Over 10 years of experience in financial analysis and enhanced information activities; prior underwriting experience is a strong advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a track record of building strong internal and external relationships.
  • Skilled at identifying customer needs and delivering tailored solutions that drive value and satisfaction.
