About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager – Freight Solutions to lead strategic planning, sales development, and operational execution across our Road, Air, and Sea Freight products. This role will be instrumental in driving growth, optimizing service offerings, and strengthening client relationships within the freight forwarding and logistics sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Product Management
  • Define and execute strategies for Road, Air, and Sea Freight to optimize product portfolios, streamline processes, and maximize asset utilization for profitability.
  • Gather and prioritize local product visions, ensuring alignment with global and regional freight strategies.
  • Analyze freight volumes and market data to develop localized strategies, grow market share, and enhance trade lane and sector profitability.
  • Implement company freight product management strategies, ensuring operational and financial performance targets are achieved.
  • Identify and lead value-added projects that improve service quality, drive innovation, and boost operational efficiency.
Sales Development & Customer Growth
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across freight forwarding and logistics sectors (air, sea, land, and multimodal).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to expand and retain the customer base.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to shape pricing strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver customized proposals, presentations, and quotations aligned with client logistics requirements.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets, revenue objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Freight Operations & Execution
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Pricing, and Carrier Management teams to deliver optimal freight solutions.
  • Oversee daily shipping operations, including documentation, dispatch, tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and implement freight consolidation strategies to enhance shipping efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage relationships with carriers and vendors to ensure reliable, timely, and high-quality delivery services.
  • Monitor and control freight-related expenses, negotiating favorable rates with suppliers.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
  • Track service standards, KPIs, and customer satisfaction metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine freight strategies to improve operational performance and cost control.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and generate performance reports to highlight trends and improvement areas.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Compliance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, regional/global partners, and logistics providers.
  • Negotiate contract terms and service-level agreements with local and international service providers.
  • Ensure full compliance with transportation laws, customs regulations, and industry standards.
  • Address and resolve customer issues in collaboration with customer service teams, enhancing overall satisfaction.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation, with a strong track record in business development and operational execution.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing strategic plans for multimodal freight solutions (Air, Sea, Road, and Multimodal).
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and freight documentation.
  • Proficiency in analyzing freight market trends, pricing strategies, and supply chain performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders and build client relationships.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment with Sales, Operations, and Carrier Management teams.
