Position Overview
The Operations Executive will be responsible for managing and coordinating all operational aspects related to crude oil and product cargo movements — from scheduling and shipment execution to documentation and post-delivery reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in crude oil and product operations, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of trading logistics, and the ability to work effectively with traders, charterers, terminals, and counterparties to ensure smooth execution of physical transactions.
POSITION: OPERATIONS EXECUTIVELOCATION: SINGAPORE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee end-to-end crude oil and product operations, including nominations, shipping documentation, cargo delivery and voyage execution.
- Coordinate with traders, charterers, shipowners, counterparties and inspection companies to ensure timely and efficient cargo operations.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
- Prepare, review, and verify shipping documents such as bills of lading, certificates of quantity/quality, cargo manifests, and other contractual documents.
- Monitor voyage progress and provide updates on vessel status, delays, or operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, Incoterms, and relevant trade regulations.
- Manage laytime calculations, demurrage claims, cargo claims and operational costs, ensuring prompt settlement with counterparties.
- Handle inventory and cargo reconciliation between terminals, refineries, and counterparties.
- Support traders with operational insights, logistics optimization, and risk mitigation.
- Maintain accurate records and operational reports in line with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Liaise with finance and risk teams for timely invoicing, payment follow-ups, and performance reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in crude oil and product operations (preferably with oil trading company or oil major).
- Understanding of shipping logistics, trade documentation, and international oil trading practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office and trading/operations systems (e.g., ETRM).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work under pressure and handle multiple stakeholders.
- Strong teamwork and organizational abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
