Senior Operations Accountant (Finance & Operations Executive)

We are looking for a capable and hands-on Senior Operations Accountant to support and back up the Finance Manager, ensuring continuity across all finance functions while taking ownership of supplier relations, shipment tracking, and inventory coordination.
This role is the key operational backbone of the finance team - equally comfortable closing accounts as chasing a freight forwarder for an overdue shipment, and ready to step in for the Finance Manager when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting- Maintain full set of accounts (GL, AR, AP, bank reconciliation, month-end close)
- Prepare management accounts and financial reports for the Finance Manager
- Act as backup to the Finance Manager, managing all finance functions independently when needed
- Support audit preparation, cash flow monitoring, and budgeting
- Chase suppliers on purchase orders, invoices, payment terms, and delivery timelines
- Resolve supplier disputes and coordinate with the Planning Consultant on product ordering
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) for products
- Ensure accuracy of BOM for costing, pricing, and inventory purposes
- Monitor product costing, margins, and profitability
- Track inventory movement and valuation
- Analyze operational expenses and recommend cost-saving initiatives
- Track inbound shipments and liaise with freight forwarders and customs agents
- Resolve shipping delays and ensure accurate recording of landed costs and import documentation
- Oversee import/export documentation and shipment coordination
- Work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and warehouse teams
- Ensure accurate costing of landed goods
- Coordinate stock receipts, adjustments, and write-offs with the warehouse team
- Reconcile physical inventory against system records and ensure accurate inventory valuations
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience, ideally in trading, retail, or supply chain-related industries
- Hands-on experience with full-set accounting; proficiency in Xero and Unleashed strongly preferred
- Experience in supplier management and inventory coordination is a must
- Comfortable leveraging Al tools to improve efficiency in finance and operations workflows
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
- Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, or holders of a valid work pass only
- Strong communication skills - comfortable liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders, and auditors
