Role Description
The Senior Manager will be the Head of Department for Transportation and responsible for the Profit & Loss of the department. He will be the person in-charge of all the operations and customer services activities in the department.
Key Responsibilities- Report to the Deputy GM / GM and fully in-charge of all the container trucking operations activities in the department.
- Good network with PSA, customers and vendors.
- Provide direction in the area of operation excellence covering the work area of operations management and customer service in the department.
- Work with the team to ensure customer delivery is consistent, high quality and high level of productivity.
- Grow the customer base to increase market share and department revenue.
- Develop transport operations policies and procedures.
- Responsible for meeting sales, revenue and profit target.
- Implement and drive best practices in transport operations.
- Enhance the customer service processes, consistency and service levels.
- Train relevant operations managers, traffic controller and staff on the best operation practices.
- Ensure that operations across the department adheres to SOP, safety and security standards.
- Ensure buy-in on all initiative by Company’s Management team.
- A Diploma or degree holder
- Minimum 10 years of experience in operations capacity in the transportation business with at least 5 years of managerial experience.
- Strong analytical, interpretive and negotiation skills with a considerable degree of evaluative judgement
- Organised and able to manage and prioritise multiple competing projects and tasks with high level of quality
- Personable team player who is equally comfortable working independently and autonomously within established procedures, guidelines and plans.
