Technical Superintendent
An exciting opportunity to join an expanding Shipping company in Hong Kong that specialises in the transport of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) globally.
The position will be stationed in Hong Kong.
We are expanding and looking for Technical Superintendent with the ability to manage the full technical support required for vessels he ln charge of:
Responsibilities
Initial role: The candidate is required to have a strong knowledge of high voltage systems and LNG control & monitoring systems.
Pre-delivery: Responsible for ensuring each assigned new LNG vessel can be taken-over from the shipyard, such that smooth and safe operational transition prevails. This position will liaise closely with the shipyard oversight team to ensure that all shipboard systems have been thoroughly checked and accepted.
Primary role: Ensure the safe and cost-efficient management of the maintenance, repair and procurement activities of the assigned LNG vessels are carried out to agreed standards. In addition, since Superintendents are often out-of-office attending to ship-board superintendence, this primary role often applies to LNG vessels assigned to others.
To offer technical support to assigned vessels and also to offer technical support to other Superintendents when needed.
Reports to: Technical Manager
Level of authority: Instruct Chief Engineers on maintenance and repair requirements. Provide professional suggestion on procuring stores, spares and services in accordance with planned and approved budgeted expenditure. Financial authority governed by a board-approved table of financial authority (TOFA).
Responsible for: Day-to-day management of assigned LNG vessels. For the maintenance repair, procurement and OPEX budget preparation process for vessels assigned and under direct care. Company's 'shore' focal point of contact for Chief Engineer's requiring shore technical assistance / technical advice.In consultation with the Fleet Manning Coordinator, prepares and implements development plans for newly promoted Chief Engineers.
Appraises: Chief Engineers and when required, Masters in consultation with the Marine Manager or responsible Marine Superintendent.

- Compliance with class, flag and charterers requirements
- Coordinates
- Class and trading surveys
- Attendance of service engineers and suppliers
- Delivery of capital projects
- Attends
- Company's LNG vessels, completes LNG vessel visit and inspection reports
- Ship-shore interface meetings, when requested
- Represents team at weekly meeting when requested
- Owners, industry forums and seminars as requested
- Develops and implements
- Engineering practices and procedures

- Engineering officer appraisals
- Related training programs

- Covers the tasks of other Technical Superintendents when absent from the office and is a member of the emergency response team.

- Chief Engineer
- 10+ years sea going experience carrying hydrocarbons (desirable)
- 3+ years shore based experience in management is desirable with relevant industry experience but sailing Chief Engineers not excluded
