Responsibilities:The candidate would be responsible for coaching, leading the sales team responsible for driving the business development/sales growth for the company's range of food products. Focusing on building strong customer relationships and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
This role is responsible for continuing to build the culture of member involvement, ownership, and teamwork at the company.
- Strategy Development: Develop sales strategies and plans to achieve the company's revenue targets and market share goals. Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive analysis to drive sales performance.
- Team Management: Lead and motivate a sales team. Set sales targets, monitor performance, provide coaching and training, and foster a culture of high performance and teamwork.
- Key Account Management: Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, including major retailers, supermarket chains, and food service providers. Collaborate with them to understand their needs, negotiate contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Sales Forecasting and Planning: Analyze market data, historical sales trends, and demand patterns to forecast sales volumes and plan inventory levels. Coordinate with production and supply chain teams to ensure adequate product availability and minimize stockouts.
- New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base and increase market penetration. Develop relationships with potential customers, conduct sales presentations, negotiate deals, and close contracts.
- Sales Performance Analysis: Monitor sales performance metrics, such as revenue, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement, make data driven decisions, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to align sales and marketing strategies. Provide input on product positioning, pricing, promotional activities, and marketing campaigns to maximize sales effectiveness.
- Budgeting and Reporting: Develop and manage the sales budget, including sales expenses, incentives, and promotional activities. Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
- Industry and Market Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the FMCG food sector. Leverage this knowledge to anticipate market shifts and develop proactive strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of sales activities with overall business objectives.
- Coach the team to master the competencies required to ensure long-term business success and long-term members’ success.
- Represent the company professionally with customers and vendors while conducting business according to the values of a world class organization. Promote a culture of inclusiveness, teamwork and cooperation that allows the company culture to thrive and prosper throughout the organization.
- Any other ad hoc duties assigned
- Min 7-8 years' experience in sales within the Food Service industry, focusing on B2B distribution and supply to restaurants, hotels, catering (HORECA), Airlines, QSR channels, etc.
- Progressive career through various sales roles, gaining hands-on experience in account management, business development, and sales leadership.
- Leadership Skills with the ability to inspire and motivate sales teams, set clear goals, and provide guidance and support.
- Strong knowledge of the food service trade, including market trends, key players, and distribution channels.
- Well-established network and connections within the food service industry to drive business opportunities.
- Proven ability to identify, pursue, and secure large-scale projects with major clients.
- Excellent sales hunting skills, with a track record of winning high-value deals and expanding market presence.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities to foster long-term partnerships.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
