Building Construction General Foreman

Job Description & Requirements

Supervisors and general foremen in building and related trades supervise activities of a distinct unit at a construction site, control and coordinate the activities of workers who are engaged in various occupations.

Tasks include:

• Interpreting specifications and job orders
• Determining sequence of operations and use of equipment
• Estimating manpower requirements
• Assigning duties to workers
• Analysing and resolving work problems
• Coordinating the work of one or more units with other units
• Recommending or initiating personnel action
• Supervising co-workers and helping them in their work
• Oversee the construction activities and progress, plan, implement and monitor work
• Schedule in accordance to the master and detailed work programme
• Liaise with Professional Engineer on the Temporary works
• Liaise with consultants (QPS) for technical issues and coordinate the site activities with subcontractors
• Handle of technical and engineering problems
• Maintain quality standards, carry out site inspections and resolve technical issues on time
• Prepare report and method statement whenever necessary
• Manage and control site safety and neat
• Supervise ongoing site activities closely
