Senior Executive, Cinical Coding

The Role
- To perform Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) coding for: i) Reporting Casemix data to MOH for -Medisave Accreditation -Publication of hospital bill size, length of stay and volume of 80 common conditions in Singapore ii) Internal use, in quality initiatives and business planning 2) To support other clinical quality initiatives as required by management
- Review medical record documentation and accurately assign appropriate ICD-10-AM diagnosis and ACHI procedure codes in accordance with coding guidelines. 2) Maintain quality and productivity according to department and organizational requirements. 3) Maintain competency and accuracy while utilizing tools of the trades, such as 3M Codefinder, SAP, C plus/ SCM and all reference materials. 4) (For Senior Executive) To guide and advise the junior coders in their coding queries/ ambiguity and help assess the need to escalate further to the Coding Expert Panel of MOH for decision making. 5) Participate in any clinical quality activities/ additional duties as assigned by the Department.
- Qualifications in Nursing / Medicine - minimally Diploma in Nursing 2) At least three years of nursing/ medical experience in hospital setting 3) (For Senior Executive) At least three years of clinical coding experience in DRG coding (using ICD-10 AM/ACHI codes). Experience in training coders and coding audit in Singapore will be an advantage.
- Good command in English and possess relevant clinical knowledge to effectively interpret medical records 2) Computer literacy- need to toggle SAP, 3M coding software and electronic medical records 3) Demonstrate a sound in-depth understanding and knowledge on clinical matters 4) Ability to apply coding standards and adjudicate in ambiguous cases
