IT Operations Specialist (24/7 Data Centre Operations)

Employment Type: Contract duration is 1 year but extendable for up till 3 years.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated IT Operations Specialist to join our Data Centre Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and security of critical IT infrastructure, applications, and data centre facilities in a 24/7 operational environment.

You will play a key role in monitoring systems, supporting production operations, resolving incidents, coordinating disaster recovery activities, and ensuring service excellence across mission-critical IT services.

• To manage and to run the Data Centre operations team on a 24x7 basis to ensure both facilities, IT infrastructure and business applications are operational
• Monitor Server and application health
• Support level 1 troubleshooting and recovery
• Run batch jobs & monitoring
• Run backup job & monitoring
• Support Production job deployment and Job schedule
• Accompany & direct Data Centre visitor
• Support Disaster Recovery activity
• Ensure all IT related issues are well documented and update management on overall performance status and activities within Data Centre
• You will be involved in monitoring the performance and availability of HDB’s IT services, processing of production jobs, assisting in monitoring and resolution of incidents related to computer hardware, operating system, application systems, data centre facilities and managing the security of the data centre. Supervise service vendors to ensure full compliance to Service Level agreement.
• You will also be involved in process improvement initiatives and projects for the data centre.

• 1–3 years of relevant IT Operations / Data Centre Operations experience
• Minimum NITEC in IT or Higher NITEC in IT qualification.
• Knowledge of Data Centre Operations or Critical Services Management.
• Knowledge of security, fire safety, and workplace safety practices.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to operational issues, enquiries, and stakeholder requests.
• Team player with a proactive attitude.

• ITIL certification or a good understanding of ITIL framework and best practices.
• Experience in production deployment, batch scheduling, and operational monitoring.
• Experience working in a 24/7 operations or data centre environment.

Working Hours

1. hour shifts:

• Day Shift: 8:45 AM – 8:45 PM
• Night Shift: 8:45 PM – 8:45 AM
