Manager/Senior Manager, Legal & Compliance

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Manager/Senior Manager, Legal and Compliance Officer to provide legal and compliance support to the business.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Oversee delivery of legal and compliance services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies, and priorities.
  • Provide legal support and advice to senior management and all internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matters particularly in areas of Anti-trust, KYC, ABC and AML.
  • Review and provide recommendations on the legal aspects and considerations for resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
  • Manage and maintain company policies, procedures and standards related to legal and compliance matters.
  • Monitor changes to regulatory requirements and proactively handle regulatory developments and compliance updates.
  • Prepare and update compliance risk assessments and risk register to ensure key controls are adequate to address and mitigate any ethics and compliances risks identified in the risk assessment process and address any emerging risks.
  • Provide time-sensitive support on a wide array of legal and compliance inquiries in all operational aspects.
  • Identify and consult on legal and compliance risks in connection with the company’s developments.
  • Lead or support other projects and tasks as may be required from time to time.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Possess a Law degree from a reputable university with at least 8 to 12 years’ post qualification legal experience.
  • Admitted to the Singapore Bar.
  • High degree of independence, initiative, and decisiveness.
  • Articulate, good drafting skills and highly effective in English.
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to demonstrate sound legal and business judgment, even in ambiguous situations.
  • Be an effective time manager with the ability to work in a team.

  • Experience working in the energy sector, especially for renewable energy e.g. solar and natural gas (both piped and liquefied) would be preferred to manage matters independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent in the knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
  • Able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities and complete them timely and effectively
