Associate Genetic Counsellor
About the role
Join Curie Oncology, a leading healthcare provider, as an Associate Genetic Counsellor. In this full-time role based in the Central Region, you will play a crucial part in our mission to deliver exceptional patient-centred care. As an Associate Genetic Counsellor, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive genetic counselling and education to our patients and their families.
What you'll be doing- Conducting comprehensive genetic risk assessments and providing personalised genetic counselling to patients and families
- Interpreting genetic test results and developing individualised care plans in collaboration with the medical team
- Educating patients and their families on genetic conditions, inheritance patterns, and available testing and management options
- Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and protocols
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to the overall patient care strategy
- Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of genetics and genetic counselling
- A master's degree in Genetic Counselling or a related field
- Certification as a Genetic Counsellor or eligibility for certification
- 2-3 years of experience in a genetic counselling role, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and the medical team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex genetic information
- Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care
- Familiarity with relevant genetic counselling guidelines and ethical principles
