Deputy Club Manager (Community Engagement and Outreach)

Job Summary

The Deputy Club Manager supports the Senior Club Manager / Club Manager in overseeing integrated club operations, community engagement, defence engagement, marketing and partnership functions at the club level. The role ensures that programmes, campaigns and partnerships are well-coordinated, impactful and aligned with SAFRA’s organisational objectives, with particular focus on NSmen engagement, community outreach and delivery excellence.

1. Club and Community Engagement Strategy

• Develop and implement the annual Club and Community Engagement strategy and workplan, aligned with club priorities and CMEG Group objectives.
• Translate organisational goals into integrated programme and marketing plans with clear KPIs, budgets and resource allocation.
• Oversee a balanced portfolio of defence and community engagement programmes with clear objectives, target segments and value propositions.

1. Programme, Campaign and Event Delivery

• Oversee end-to-end planning and execution of programmes and campaigns, including budgeting, procurement, vendor management and logistics.
• Drive integration between programme design and marketing efforts to strengthen outreach, participation and engagement impact.
• Support overall club operations where required, ensuring alignment between engagement initiatives and operational priorities.

1. Partnership and Stakeholder Management

• Lead and manage community and defence partnerships, including regional SAF Camps and Services.
• Establish and manage partnerships with community stakeholders, defence agencies and SAF Camps, ensuring clear scope, roles and deliverables.
• Strengthen outreach and engagement outcomes through sustained partner collaboration.
• Manage Volunteers from recruiting, training, engaging, and retaining volunteers to maximise their impact and ensure a sustainable, high-performing volunteer program.

1. Team Leadership and Resource Management

• Lead, coach and supervise Projects & Engagement and Marketing & Partnerships teams to build a cohesive and high-performing unit.
• Ensure optimal use of shared resources across clubs in coordination with group-level Marketing & Partnerships support.
• Coordinate across engagement programmes, marketing initiatives and club operations to ensure effective governance and delivery.

1. Governance, Risk Management and Reporting

• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, governance frameworks, safety standards and approval processes.
• Oversee risk management, including risk assessments and mitigation plans for large-scale and defence-related activities.
• Monitor programme and campaign performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement through data and insights.
• Prepare and present consolidated reports, insights and recommendations to senior management and relevant committees.

• Degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, Public Administration, Social Sciences or other related fields.
• Relevant experience in club operations, community engagement, programme management, marketing, partnerships or stakeholder management.
• Strong leadership, planning and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
• Good understanding of governance, budgeting, procurement, risk management and operational requirements.
• Strong written, presentation and analytical skills.
• Able to work on weekends or outside office hours when required for events and operational duties.
