Medical Laboratory Technologist (Client and Specimen Management)

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and driven individual to join our team in providing leadership and management of the Client and Specimen Management unit. You will:

• Lead a team of 40 laboratory staff on handling of client enquiries and specimen management.
• Conduct detailed investigations on client and specimen management issues.
• Liaise with internal and external clients.
• Liaise with various laboratories on specimen related matters.
• Participate actively in quality assurance and management.
• Assist in establishing, implementing and updating policies and procedures and other related duties as requested or directed.
• Assist in staff training and competency assessment for continuous professional development.
• Work closely with management team to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

• Degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences or its equivalent
• 2 year(s) of relevant work experience in the delivery of Pathology Laboratory Services, including use of lab information system preferred.
• Able to work both independently and in a large team.
• Able to work well in a fast-paced work environment.
• Able to work with a diverse group of stakeholders with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to perform 24hrs on-call supervisory duties on a rotational basis.
• Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrate proactiveness with good leadership skills.
