Job Overview

The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be responsible for developing and executing account strategies to grow sales, market share, and profitability for assigned key accounts – Guardian and Watsons Singapore. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, finance) and strong external relationship management with key decision-makers at both retail partners.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Account Management
  • Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders at Guardian and Watsons.
  • Develop and execute joint business plans, annual negotiations, and promotional calendars tailored to each account.
  • Identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to increase product listings, visibility, and category share.
  1. Sales & Performance Management
  • Achieve sales targets, market share, and profitability goals for assigned accounts.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and ensure timely execution of trade promotions and new launches.
  1. Trade Marketing & Promotion Execution
  • Collaborate with trade marketing to develop account-specific campaigns and in-store activation plans.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of promotions and provide ROI analysis to optimize future investments.
  1. Operational Excellence
  • Ensure supply chain efficiency by coordinating with logistics, demand planning, and customer service teams.
  • Monitor stock levels, minimize out-of-stock situations, and support planogram compliance and in-store execution.
  1. Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with brand, finance, and supply chain teams to align on strategic priorities.
  • Lead internal account reviews and present business updates to senior management.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in key account management, preferably in FMCG or health & beauty categories.
  • Proven track record of managing modern trade accounts, ideally Guardian and Watsons.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with Nielsen data, SAP, or similar reporting tools.
  • Results-driven, highly organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
