Senior Vice President

The Senior Vice President leads the APRHQ Building Department and is responsible for all matters relating to Group companies and regional offices in the Asia Pacific region, including but not limited to corporate planning, tendering, project execution, safety and quality management and manpower planning.

The Vice President is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

The status of achievement of the current year's plan and the outlook for the full year, the progress of management measures and future issues and policies, the current status of safety management and measures to strengthen it, the status of global human resources development and strengthening, visualisation of the management status of each group company using evaluation sheets and strengthening of governance at Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters, efforts to strengthen competitiveness by sharing the technical capabilities of the Obayashi Group, etc, Improved productivity and visualisation by strengthening DX and BIM initiatives, efforts to turn data center projects into core businesses, quantitative evaluation of local subsidiary evaluation sheets, etc.

(A) Minimum Qualifications / Job Experience / Skills:

• At least 30 years working experience in building construction with at least 20 years in managing experience.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Building, or its equivalent, preferably holding Professional Engineer or equivalent qualification.
• At least 10 years of experience working on building construction project site and at least 10 years of experience working on projects in multiple countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
• Have experience in the cross-border working environments i.e. in working closely with group companies and/or regional offices over the Asia- Pacific region.
• Currently part of the top management team (at least General Manager position and above) in the decision making on business strategy. This included new client procurement strategy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Comprehensive understanding of authority requirements and engineering standards applicable in the Asia-Pacific region.
• Proven working knowledge and experience as a main contractor in building construction projects.
• Business level Japanese skill of at least JLPT N1 or equivalent to ensure accurate communication on the business plan for APRHQ Building Department with Tokyo Headquarters in Japan.
• At least one professional qualification in Architecture field.
