Project Manager / Business Development

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Project Manager cum Sales / Business Development to manage construction / renovation projects from planning to completion, while also identifying and securing new business opportunities for the company.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on construction site experience, be proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, and possess the ability to manage project delivery, client relationships, commercial matters, and project acquisition.

Responsibilities
  • Lead overall project planning, including scope definition, scheduling, manpower planning, resource allocation, and execution strategy
  • Review and understand all technical documents, construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and related project requirements
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, quality standards, and project timeline
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities on technical, commercial, and project coordination matters
  • Attend and lead project coordination meetings, site meetings, and follow up on action items
  • Monitor project progress, site issues, risks, delays, and ensure timely resolution of technical and operational problems
  • Manage project budget, cost control, material usage, subcontractor claims, variation orders, progress claims, and final account matters
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, statutory requirements, and internal quality procedures
  • Prepare project reports, work schedules, submissions, method statements, and handover documents including as-built drawings and O&M manuals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and business partners to support long-term cooperation and repeat business
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, follow up on sales enquiries, source for new clients, and bring in new projects
  • Prepare quotations, project proposals, cost inputs, and support tender submissions where required
  • Work closely with management to achieve both project delivery targets and business growth objectives
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by management
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, renovation, fit-out, or project management
  • Strong hands-on site management experience and ability to manage projects independently from start to finish
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction / architectural / structural / M&E drawings
  • Good knowledge of construction methods, site coordination, safety requirements, quality standards, and project execution
  • Experience in cost control, subcontractor coordination, progress claims, variation orders, and project documentation
  • Proven ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Sales-minded and commercially aware, with the ability to develop business opportunities and secure projects
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple stakeholders, and deliver results under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD / MS Project will be an advantage
  • Diploma / Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field preferred
  • Candidates with existing client network or proven track record in bringing in projects will have an added advantage
