The Operating Theatre Assistant / Healthcare Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting nursing and clinical staff to facilitate the efficient functioning of the operating theatre.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the surgical team to support operations
- Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in operating and equipment rooms
- Prepare appropriate disinfectants
- Transport patients as needed
- Dispatch specimens to relevant departments
- Prepare and ensure the proper functionality of surgical equipment
- Assist with patient positioning during procedures
- Handle all equipment appropriately and with care
Requirements:
- Minimum GCE ‘N’ level or Certificate in Health Care
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
- Technical competency in operating theatre procedures and equipment
