Project & Commercial Manager

Job Purpose:

Lead and manage project execution for Singapore-based Chinese contract clients, driving both operational delivery and revenue growth. Serve as the main liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably, while fostering strong relationships to secure repeat and expanded business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Singapore-based Chinese contractors.
• Act as the key commercial contact for assigned contractor accounts.
• Identify upcoming tenders, project opportunities, and crane rental requirements.
• Participate in client meetings, site briefings, and commercial discussions.
• Drive repeat business, framework agreements, and project pipeline growth.
• Proactively pursue variation works and additional equipment deployment opportunities.

• Lead full project lifecycle from award to completion.
• Ensure alignment of technical specifications, lifting requirements, schedules, manpower, and equipment allocation.
• Conduct regular coordination meetings with clients and internal teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within approved budget.

• Coordinate manpower planning with Operations Department.
• Work closely with Fleet Department to allocate cranes efficiently across projects.
• Maximize crane utilization and reduce idle time.
• Ensure equipment readiness, inspection, and compliance prior to deployment.

• Oversee crane maintenance coordination and preparation for rental / projects.
• Verify site access, lifting plans, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain complete and accurate project documentation.

• Accountable for revenue and gross margin of Chinese contractor accounts.
• Monitor project costs and protect margins.
• Track billing and support timely invoicing and payment collection.
• Provide revenue forecasts and project pipeline updates to management.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; knowledge of AutoCAD is required.

Experiences:

• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant project management experience in construction, engineering, lifting solutions, or industrial services.
• Proven experience coordinating with Chinese contractors in Singapore projects is preferred.
• Fluent in English; proficient in Mandarin (spoken and written) is a must, to effectively liaise with Chinese contractors and stakeholders.
