Assistant Engineer | Integrated Facilities Maintenance | Training Provided
Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer (AE) will perform preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance
(CM) and fault attendance tasks for the equipment within IFM purview, in accordance with quality
and safety standards. To ensure works carried out comply to Work Instructions (WI), Work
Records (WR) and maintenance manuals. The AE will also investigate incident/ accidents, carry
out checks to ensure safety aspects comply to SMRT Work Safety Manual and guarantee quality
assurance in accordance with Code of Practise or SMRT Quality Procedures (QP).
Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Engineer duties and responsibilities are as listed below. Note that the list is not
comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
To lead and manage a team of Technical Officers (TO) to carry out PM, CM and fault
attendance in Station / Tunnel / Depot for IFM equipment (Electrical switchboards,fire alarm systems, ACMV systems, escalators & lifts, infrastructure & facilities).
Perform fault attendance, troubleshooting and rectification.
To plan team maintenance work schedule and execute the scheduled PM/ CM works.
To ensure timely closure of all work orders.
To ensure all faults are followed up.
Supervise the PM & CM works carried out by contractor, ensuring that the work is
carried out safely and meets the expected quality and standards.
To attend faults as reported by Operations Command Centre (OCC).
To manage and ensure that the IFM equipment are properly maintained and keep it
in state of good and operational condition.
To conduct briefing and toolbox meeting.
To supervise and ensure that the TOs perform their duties and responsibilities safely
and efficiently.
To provide technical advice, information and instructions to TOs and other staffs.
To ensure all drawings, diagrams, manuals, PM and CM records are kept current and
updated
