Our Client, in the Automotive Industry located in Central has opening for Assistant Finance Manager #Accounting
  • 5 Days Work / 8.30am - 6pm

To provide support to Finance Manager to ensure compliance with Group’s policies and relevant laws/ regulations in respect of financial matters and contribute positively to the company’s profitability and return on investment by exercising effective cost control measures and asset management.

Co-ordinate with shared services centre relating to accounting operations including day-to-day finance operations so as to keep proper accounting records and meet reporting requirements on time.

Responsibilities:

Financial accounting
  • Ensure that accounting for monthly / quarterly / yearly closing are completed on time and accurately
  • Review monthly closing TB and sign off for reporting submission
  • Prepare / Review monthly closing journal
  • Review accounts reconciliations and schedules
  • Review monthly bank reconciliation for sign-off and follow-up
  • Control chart of a/c, review consistency, control a/c creation and archive
  • Assist FM in preparation for accounting practice documentation
  • Provision policy review and proposal
  • Ensure compliance to accounting standards
  • Audit review support (External and GCAD review)
  • Annual Statutory Accounts, XBRL
  • Prepare / review Sales & Purchasing Commission, Insurance and Finance Commission for payroll
  • Prepare / review payroll journals
  • Review for internal revenue elimination
GST and tax
  • Provide assistance and research correct treatment
  • Review and submit GST quarterly returns
  • Prepare / Review tax & deferred tax computation for accounting provision
  • Finalise corporate tax computations for review by HO and tax consultants
Implement and review controls
  • Continuously review processes to ensure that controls are in place
  • Recommend and implement new controls where necessary
Feasibility studies / capital expenditure purchases
  • Provide financial analysis for new projects / purchases
  • Review government tender submissions for financial requirements (bankers’ guarantees, working capital)
  • Provide advice, guidelines and instructions to shared services centre and operations on new issues / clarify current practices
  • Preparation and finalization of budget and forecasts
  • Provide assistance to reporting team to formulate budget and forecasts
  • Review and co-ordinate insurance coverage of company’s assets
IT matters
  • To work with IT and test new programs developed to ensure that they function correctly based on our requirement
  • Set up parameters and interfaces in GDMS for new models and/ or franchise.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA)
  • More than 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting
  • Good Excel skills
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
