Legal Counsel

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with regional teams to establish and improve legal processes to support ongoing activities.
• Support legal and related documentation standardization and consistency across the region.
• Develop and implement structured legal risk assessment and escalation procedures across the region.
• Compile, review, and assess contractual and legal risks across the region and follow-up.
• Inter-departmental and regional collaboration to achieve coordinated and efficient outcomes on matters of common interest.
• Support drafting, preparation, and review of legal agreements, templates, and documents.
• Legal support, advise, and guidance.
• Monitoring of regional legal and regulatory changes.
• Conduct related training and awareness sessions.
• Provide legal advice to senior management and business units.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring that contracts align with business objectives while minimizing legal and commercial risks.
• Develop and maintain legal documents and contract templates.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and operational risks.
• Handle dispute matters or matters under review or investigation.
• Instruct and manage external counsels as may be required.
• Support M&A activities.
• Ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations and local and group policies.
• Assist and collaborate with Internal Audit, Finance, and other teams on projects requiring legal input.
• Other tasks related to the roles maybe assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

• Degree in Law
• Experience in legal review, contract vetting, and providing legal advisory support.
• Organized and detailed.

In-house lawyer

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents for local and regional operations.
• Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
• Support compliance initiatives, including antitrust, anti-corruption, and data protection.
• Assist in managing litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to mitigate legal risks.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and advise on implications for business operations.
• Ad-hoc duties as per required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
• Admission to the Singapore Bar is mandatory.
• Min 3-5 years in law firm/ as a legal counsel, preferably in an international business environment.
• Strong knowledge of contract law and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of maritime law, trade compliance (including economic sanctions), M&A or industry-specific regulations.

Defence Attorney

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage general civil disputes, contractual claims, debt recovery, tort, and commercial litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and interlocutory applications.
• Conduct legal research and advise clients on litigation strategy and risk exposure.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and trials.

• Handle separation proceedings, custody and care & control matters, division of matrimonial assets, and maintenance claims.
• Conduct client consultations with empathy and professionalism.
• Draft court documents and attend case conferences and hearings in the Family Justice Courts.

• Represent clients in investigations, mentions, bail applications, mitigation pleas, and trials.
• Liaise with law enforcement authorities and prosecutors.
• Advise clients on procedural rights and defence strategy.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree.
• Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction and in good standing.
• 2-3 years of experience in criminal and/or civil defence practice (can be tailored).
