Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel

Regional Coverage: Singapore, Southeast Asia, Korea, Taiwan & India

Job Summary

As a member of the regional Legal & Compliance team, you will support the SVP Legal & Compliance in delivering legal, regulatory, and compliance support across Singapore and regional entities. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, internal audit, finance, and business teams, to ensure effective legal governance, risk management, and commercial support across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional teams to develop and enhance legal processes supporting business operations
• Standardise legal documentation, templates, and contract frameworks across the region
• Develop and implement legal risk assessment and escalation frameworks
• Review and assess contractual and legal risks, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
• Support cross-functional and regional collaboration on legal and compliance matters
• Provide legal advice, guidance, and support across regional entities
• Monitor regional legal and regulatory developments and assess impact
• Conduct legal training and awareness sessions for internal stakeholders

• Provide legal advisory support to senior management and business units
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements aligned with business and risk objectives
• Develop, maintain, and update legal templates and standard contract documents
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and operational risks
• Manage disputes, investigations, or contentious matters where required
• Instruct and manage external legal counsel when necessary
• Support mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Partner with Internal Audit, Finance, and other departments on legal-related projects

• Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognised university in Singapore
• Experience in legal review, contract drafting/vetting, and legal advisory work
• Strong understanding of corporate and commercial legal matters
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a regional team environment
• Self-motivated, willing to learn, and open to upskilling
• Willingness to be trained and take on new responsibilities
• Proficient in conversational Chinese, capable of effectively managing Chinese-speaking counterparts
