Reporting to Director (Sustainability & HSE), the role oversees the Group’s sustainability reporting, ESG compliance, and decarbonisation efforts, ensuring alignment with global standards and evolving regulations and stakeholder expectations.
The role supports sustainability risk management, sustainable procurement, and workplace safety initiatives while strengthening ESG strategy, data integrity, and stakeholder engagement across NPX entities. Through collaboration, analysis, and capability building, the position embeds sustainability into business operations to advance the Group’s long-term responsible growth and value creation.
Key Responsibilities- Sustainability Strategy & Policies
- Review and refine the Group’s sustainability strategy and policies to ensure alignment with evolving business priorities, stakeholder expectations, and market trends.
- Perform ESG benchmarking to compare performance, identify best practices, and enhance the Group strategic positioning.
- Develop guidance on Group ESG strategy, policies, and initiatives to serve as a consistent reference for ESG assessments (e.g., EcoVadis, CDP).
- Sustainability Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee the preparation of Group-level sustainability reporting and ESG disclosures grounded in double materiality assessments and in accordance with global and industry reporting frameworks including GRI, SASB, and ISSB (IFRS S1/S2).
- Work with internal stakeholders including Finance, business units, NPX entities, and Partner Group Companies (PGC) to align reporting methodologies and disclosure approaches.
- Provide support and guidance to NPX entities on local ESG reporting requirements and stakeholder expectations.
- Monitor new and emerging ESG standards and regulations, and assess their impact on the Group and NPX entities.
- Carbon Accounting & Decarbonisation
- Oversee accurate measurement, verification, and reporting of Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions in alignment with the GHG Protocol.
- Collaborate with business units and NPX entities to ensure consistent carbon data management, reporting, and assurance readiness.
- Lead the development, alignment, and tracking of Group-level climate and emissions reduction including net zero, and science-based targets.
- Drive decarbonisation initiatives focused on emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and climate transition to achieve corporate sustainability targets and goals.
- Climate Risk Management & Scenario Analysis
- Facilitate climate scenario analysis using relevant global pathways (e.g., IPCC, IEA), incorporating localised physical and transition risks.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to quantify sustainability- and climate-related risks and opportunities across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons, integrating findings into business planning.
- Support the integration of climate risks into the enterprise risk management framework to strengthen resilience and long-term value creation.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building
- Engage cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Finance, Procurement) to embed sustainability into business processes.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulators, NGOs, consultants, auditors, and partners, on ESG disclosures, assurance, and performance communication to build trust and foster partnership.
- Build sustainability capabilities across the Group and NPX entities through training, knowledge sharing, and guidance on reporting and sustainability-related risk and opportunities identification, assessment, and quantification.
- Data Management & Performance Tracking
- Oversee the deployment and effective use of ESG digital platforms and tools to support data consolidation and reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy, validation, and integrity of ESG data across NPX entities to support reliable reporting and assurance.
- Analyse ESG data to generate insights for strategy development, target setting, and performance tracking.
- Track and communicate progress against KPIs related to emissions reduction, climate targets, and ESG strategy implementation.
- Secretariat Support
- Provide secretariat and administrative support to sustainability- and HSE-related committees at the Group level.
- HSE Cover
Cover HSE-related roles and responsibilities as required:
- Drive workplace safety programs and initiatives, securing active support from Country and HSE leaders to promote NIPSEA Safety pillars.
- Serve as main point of contact for accident and incident investigations and incident reporting, providing expertise in root cause analysis and developing effective preventive and correction action plans.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Climate Policy, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in ESG reporting, climate risk analysis, or corporate sustainability.
- Solid working knowledge of GRI, ISSB (IFRS S1/S2), and other relevant standards/frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SASB).
- Strong expertise in carbon accounting, including measuring and reporting Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in line with the GHG Protocol.
- Experience with climate scenario modelling, risk quantification, and climate-related financial disclosures is preferred.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
- Analytical mindset and excellent project management capabilities.
- Ability to distil complex sustainability and climate data into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent writing and presentation abilities, with attention to detail and clarity.
- Proactive and driven, taking ownership to deliver results and achieve key objectives independently.
- Willingness to travel 10–20% of the time.
