Role summary

The IT Application Manager is responsible for owning, governing, and scaling business‑critical manufacturing applications that support factory operations, planning, execution, and decision‑making for UTAC manufacturing site.

Key responsibilities
  • Drive development of an IT strategy in alignment to factory’s objectives and strategic IT framework.
  • In close partnership with senior business stakeholders, manages governance processes and resources, and influence, match and prioritize needs and IT services to maximize value to the business.
  • Advise and influence management and key stakeholders on the marketplace evolution and potential application of technologies and emerging technology in alignment to the overall business strategy.
  • Maintain effective ongoing communications with the business, IT community and operational management regarding system plans, projects, budgets, expenditures, and policies.
  • Promote collaboration and develop cohesive teams capable of executing under tight timelines.
  • Manage change management activities and support continuous improvement process.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, standards, procedures and IT security requirements.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable company guidelines.
Requirements
 A.  Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Industrial Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing IT or industrial application management.
  • Proven experience supporting MES, PLM, and manufacturing execution environments.
  • Experience in multi‑site or regional manufacturing organizations preferred.
  • Experience in other areas such as B2B, CRM, and SAP is not required and will not be considered essential for suitability.
 B.  Technical & Functional Skills
  • Technically inclined - IT industry with broad knowledge of IT Trends & emerging technologies and supervisory/managerial experience in the operation of Information Technology including leading a team of direct reports, where applicable.
  • Strong, proven knowledge and subject-matter expertise in Digital Twin, APS, RTD, and MES/Camstar are essential for this role.
  • Experience with SQL/Oracle databases, system interfaces, and data integration.
  • Knowledge of IoT protocols, edge platforms, and factory connectivity.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft cloud technologies and hybrid architectures.
  • Exposure to AI / ML applications in manufacturing analytics is an advantage.
 C.  Manufacturing Domain Expertise
  • Preferably with semiconductor manufacturing business acumen and with prior leadership in information and technology support in this domain.
  • Knowledge of production planning, scheduling, dispatching, and quality systems.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into scalable IT solutions.
 D.  Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary IT interface for manufacturing application vendors.
  • Manage vendor contracts, SLAs, and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with plant leadership to prioritize enhancements and resolve issues.
  • Lead change management activities to ensure business adoption and operational readiness.
 E.  Leadership & Soft Skills
  • A strategic thinker with good technical knowledge and excellent communication and leadership skills, used to influence decision making with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to recognize business opportunities and present a clear strategic vision of how technology can be applied to achieve success.
  • Proven leadership in cross‑functional and multi‑site environments.
  • Experience leading digital transformation and change management initiatives.
  • Ability to understand the business impact of different solutions and ability to assess impact and communicate the trade-offs between business needs, technology requirements, timelines, costs, and risks is required.
  • Strong project and program management capabilities.
  • Highly proactive and motivated.
  • Good written and presentation skills
