Site Engineer (Construction)

About the role

This role is integral to maintaining project excellence and delivering outstanding results for our clients.

1. Monitor and oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is executed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and approved methodologies
2. Conduct site inspections and quality checks to verify that construction work meets required standards and specifications
3. Prepare and maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, inspection reports, and progress documentation
4. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
5. Identify and resolve on-site construction issues, technical challenges, and discrepancies in a timely manner
6. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site
7. Liaise between the design team and construction team to clarify project requirements and resolve design-related queries
8. Monitor project progress against the approved schedule and report any deviations or delays
9. Assist in the preparation of progress reports and communicate project status to senior management
10. Support the Site Manager in managing site resources, equipment, and personnel effectively

1. Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognised institution
2. Minimum 2–5 years of site-based experience in construction project management or site engineering
3. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety standards relevant to civil and structural works
4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and technical documents
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders on site
6. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
7. Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance in all construction activities
8. Competency in site documentation, reporting, and record-keeping using digital and manual systems
9. Knowledge of construction safety protocols and experience implementing HSE best practices
10. Familiarity with construction management software and MS Office applications is advantageous
11. Professional membership with Engineering bodies (such as PEI or IES) is desirable but not essential
