Field Data Center Engineer - Toa Payoh

This is a field support role where traveling from site to site is required. The role will also double up as help desk when field support is not required.

Helpdesk Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line technical support to users via phone, email, and onsite assistance
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues
• Log incidents and service requests accurately in the IT ticketing system
• Escalate unresolved issues to relevant support teams
• Perform user account management (e.g., password resets, access rights)
• Set up and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT peripherals
• Support IT onboarding and offboarding activities
• Provide end-user guidance and training on IT tools and best practices

Field Support Responsibilities:

• Perform rack and stack activities, including mounting servers, switches, routers, storage devices, and cabling in data center racks.
• Install, de-install, and relocate hardware equipment as required.
• Ensure proper cable management, labeling, and documentation for all installed equipment.
• Conduct hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and basic repairs for server and network devices.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware deliveries and installations.
• Perform power and connectivity checks to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
• Support field deployments, including on-site hardware installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Maintain detailed records of installations, configurations, and maintenance activities
• To perform rack and stack duties in data center
• Respond to data center emergencies, such as power outages or equipment failures, with a sense of urgency and efficiency
• Collaborate with other IT teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity professionals, to maintain a seamless data center environment

Requirements:

• Proficiency in installing and configuring data center hardware (servers, network devices)
• Experience with power distribution units (PDUs) and network patch panels.
• Experience in End User Computing support and helpdesk duties
• Basic understanding of network protocols and IP configurations.
• Provide on-site technical support for hardware issues at various field locations.
• Diploma or higher in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in data center environments or similar roles
