Role Summary
We are looking for a Business Development Executive / Snr Executive to join our highly regarded Business Development team at Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP. The role presents an opportunity for an accomplished and motivated business developer to support the lawyers in the firm on pitches and proposals, the firm’s local and regional key client programmes, client/market/sector research, strategic event support, data analysis and other business development and marketing activities.
We are looking for someone to join the team who has a very strong work ethic and a genuine interest in working for a law firm.
Responsibilities
As a BD Executive / Snr Executive, you will report to and support the BD Director and work closely with the firm's stakeholders. You will help to drive, implement and oversee BD activities including, but not limited to:
- Preparing responses to client's request for proposals, pitches and Gebiz tenders, including curating relevant deals lists.
- Managing regular key client team meetings that are productive, action oriented and focus on priorities to implement the agreed client strategy.
- Assisting respective Key Relationship Partners and client teams develop an active account plan to pursue strategic priorities and meet financial targets and drive the implementation of the plan.
- Conducting research, summarising information, and communicating intelligence (market trends / opportunities) that can be used for targeting and prioritisation purposes, including the identification of new potential clients or opportunities to expand our client base, relationships with existing clients and key clients.
- Research existing and prospective clients as well as competitor activity.
- Analyse data sets to assist with tracking of business development endeavours.
- Developing a good working knowledge of priority sectors, market trends, deal activity, etc., that the firm can use strategically to identify and win clients.
- Assisting the BD Director with client relationship management in general.
- Support the firm’s participation in sponsorships, conferences, trade memberships and other key profile-building opportunities.
- Assisting with content development for presentations, proposals, and pitch materials.
- Assisting with client specific development events, particularly identifying attendees/guest list, development of materials, facility liaison, registration duties etc.
- Two years of experience in business development and marketing preferred (especially BD/marketing experience in a law firm).
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business, law or a related discipline preferred.
- Excellent project management skills, keen attention to detail and an ability to prioritise and execute multiple ongoing projects often under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work confidently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with Freshsales or another CRM program is preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for details.
- Keen business acumen and strong data analytical skills.
- Flexible and able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- High competency in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Depending on experience and suitability, candidates will either be considered for the Executive or Senior Executive role.
