Assistant Technical Engineer- Product Development and Innovation

Perform production and process quality improvement; implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods for new or existing products and technologies. It include design/modify of manufacturing process systems and new equipment evaluation.

• Perform quality, safety and efficiency improvements for all manufacturing operations and compliance with the respective safety requirements.

• Design new cable and maintain existing cable design using Cable Builder
• Assist in QEOHS pre-audit and audit.
• Assist in reviewing customer specification for cable compliance.
• Provide external technical supports which involve:
• calculating current carrying capacities according to latest national / international/ company standards.
• performing site visits to response to customer/sales feedback
• participating in exhibition locally and overseas, technical-sales activities and seminars. Prepare and perform technical presentation if require.
• participating in other matters such as query, data sheet generation, catalogue updating and verification.

• analyses the machine and equipment performance including the functioning of PLC and power drives and make improvement to increase the machine and equipment uptime.
• perform root cause analysis to resolve machine and equipment issues when arise and carry out necessary repair works.
• perform root cause analysis to resolve product failure during or after production, providing technical advice/guidance to the QC team and production team.
• resolving products / technical issues to meet customers’ needs.

Requirements :

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering field (preferably in Electrical Power Systems, Automation, or Electrical Insulation and Cable).
• Ability to work independently and provide strategic input at both plant and corporate levels.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Willingness to travel.
