Business development manager

Under the direct guidance of the Director, the trainee will gain hands-on exposure to business planning, market expansion activities, and relationship management relevant to a retail confectionery environment.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Director in identifying new business opportunities and potential partnerships with suppliers and event organizers.
2. Conduct market observation to understand customer preferences, seasonal trends, and competitor offerings.
3. Support the development of promotional concepts and retail campaigns suitable for bakery and confectionery products.
4. Coordinate with suppliers regarding product availability, delivery schedules, and new product introductions.
5. Prepare basic business proposals and collaboration outlines for potential partners.
6. Monitor customer feedback and suggest improvements to product selection and service approach.
7. Assist in planning special occasion offerings such as festive seasons, celebrations, and corporate orders.
8. Maintain proper documentation for business discussions, agreements, and supplier communications.
9. Support outlet expansion planning, including location assessment and basic feasibility reviews.

Technical Skills and Competencies:

1. Understanding of retail business operations in the food and confectionery sector.

Duration of Traineeship/Attachment Offered - 6 months
