Compliance Officer, Asia-Pacific

You will lead the Compliance function for the Asia-Pacific region. You are in charge of developing and monitoring the Compliance plan for the Asia-Pacific. You will be part of the overall Group Compliance Department and report directly to the Asia-Pacific General Counsel with a functional reporting to the Group Chief Compliance Officer.

The APAC Data Protection Officer will lead on data protection and privacy matters with your support.

  • assisting on certain projects relating to corporate governance, reporting concerns and incident response matters.
In accordance with our policies and guidelines you will oversee the implementation of certain controls on other topics like regulatory, tax via the implementation of control calendars.
  • You will lead, continue to build, develop and manage the Compliance Program for your region and related risks assessments.
  • Monitor compliance related processes you own for your region or support global compliance related matters.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on compliance related matters.
  • Cooperate with the local compliance officers, APAC and local data protection officers and legal counsels involved on compliance matters in particular in relation to control calendars, AML and sanctions review and screening.
  • Develop and conduct compliance trainings.
  • Identify the need for and draft and implement local compliance policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Responsible for conducting annual Fit & Proper process throughout APAC, in coordination with Group Legal (as appropriate).
  • Responsible for enhancing and updating Outsourcing compliance framework throughout APAC, including third-party management matters.
  • Perform certain spot checks and ICS controls to ensure effectiveness of compliance related policies and guidelines.
  • Support horizon scanning and reporting to Group and your Regional/entity Senior Management.
  • Be a key contributor to SCOR's Legal & Compliance automation strategy.
  • Report on Compliance matters and execution of the compliance plan to the Group Chief Compliance officer and the APAC Data Protection Officer (as appropriate).
  • Coordinate APAC L&C Team members on the APAC Compliance plan, including Chief Compliance Officers in Korea and Mumbai and VIE in Singapore.
  • Support Chief Compliance Officers in Korea and Mumbai with task management of training and development needs.

Experience & Competencies:

  • At least 10 years experience in a law firm or in-house setting focused on compliance including trade sanctions and embargos.
  • Microsoft 365, SharePoints, Teams, LexisNexis, Refinitiv World Check, Bridger, Watchdog
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proactive and solution-minded;
  • Practical experience in working in a dynamic business and market environment;
  • Pragmatic, curious, able to navigate and deal with uncertainty or ambiguity;
  • Able to work independently; and
  • Team player, collaborative.
