Role Purpose
The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring best-in-class operational services through leading a team to achieve goals through tasks like setting workloads, delegating tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring performance.
This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant movement of aircraft parts and other aviation-related materials.
Key duties include motivating team members, training staff, resolving conflicts, and acting as a liaison between the team and upper management.
Essential skills include strong communication, problem-solving, and time management.
Main Role AccountabilitiesLeadership & Motivation
- Guide, motivate, and inspire a team to achieve specific project goals and company objectives
- Drive employee engagement and team cohesion
- Lead, train, and supervise operations team members
- Prepare shift schedules and manage manpower allocation during peak operations
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship
- Track team performance and provide constructive feedback
- Conduct performance reviews
- Ensure direct reports understand and take ownership of responsibilities
- Set clear objectives and guide the team to achieve targets and standards
- Develop team members through training and guidance
- Work with the Station Manager on team structure and succession planning
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Deliver ongoing and refresher training
- Ensure completion of mandated training
- Implement future development programmes
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 AS9120B requirements
- Act as the main link between team and senior management
- Foster open communication
- Manage HR-related challenges with support from Station Manager and HR
- Ensure team receives clear instructions aligned with policies
- Resolve conflicts and complaints
- Identify and mitigate risks and operational challenges
- Delegate tasks effectively and manage workloads
- Ensure timely and accurate task completion
- Supervise daily aviation logistics operations:Import/exportWarehousingAirside movementsTransport scheduling
- Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, ground handling teams, and airport authorities
- Resolve operational issues (e.g., delays, discrepancies)
- Arrange shipments according to SOPs and customer requirements
- Liaise with overseas offices and internal departments
- Ensure on-time delivery of all shipments, including:AOGCritical aircraft partsOversized cargo
- Monitor KPIs, job margins, and service standards
- Maintain strong knowledge of aviation logistics processes
- Respond to customer requests within defined timelines
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations (IATA, TSA, FAA/EASA where applicable)
- Enforce safety protocols and PPE usage
- Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Report and investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to multitask under pressure
- High attention to detail
- Solid operational knowledge (import/export processes)
- Proven leadership in time-critical logistics or aviation environment
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
