[ref. r01860516] Singapore River - Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (AWS security architecture)

Responsibilities:

• Secure Architecture Design:
• Design, implement, review and manage secure AWS architectures that align with cybersecurity best practices and governance policies.
• Conduct security architecture reviews for cloud applications and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS.
• Governance & Compliance:
• Define, implement, and maintain cloud security policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored for AWS.
• Develop governance and compliance strategies to meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
• Lead cloud risk assessments and contribute to enterprise risk management processes.
• Operational Security & Incident Response:
• Oversee AWS security monitoring using tools such as Security Hub, GuardDuty, and CloudTrail.
• Participate in planning and execution of incident response procedures for AWS-related security events.
• Evaluate cloud-native and third-party security tools to enhance visibility and protection.
• Collaboration & Enablement:
• Work closely with IT, DevOps, and application teams to ensure secure AWS deployments.
• Deliver training and awareness programs to internal teams on cloud security and governance best practices.
• Stay current with AWS security offerings and emerging threats to inform architecture and policy updates.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure Security by Design is embedded in every phase of development and deployment.

• Experience & Technical Skills:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on cloud (especially AWS).
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS security architecture, services, and tools (e.g., IAM, VPC, KMS, WAF).
• Proven experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, and CIS benchmarks.
• Knowledge of IM8, TR111, SS713 is a bonus but not necessity.
• Governance & Risk Management:
• Experience in designing and implementing cloud security governance models and risk management strategies.
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies in cloud environments.
• Certifications:
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), or equivalent certifications are strongly preferred.
• Additional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or CISM are a plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders across departments.
