Singapore Biodesign, a National-level talent development platform and Global Affiliate of the renowned Stanford Mussallem Center for Biodesign, focuses on bringing economic benefits and healthcare value through its health and medtech innovation training offerings.

The programme aims to empower the next generation health and medtech innovators for Asia using the needs-centric Biodesign Process that the programme has adapted for the region. The programme focuses on 3 main areas - building Talent, Innovations and the Community.

Job Description

Curriculum forms the foundation of SB’s training offerings from the high-touch innovation fellowship to workshops and asynchronous e-learning. The Senior Assistant Director (Curriculum) will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing various initiatives that SB offers.
This includes identifying talent development gaps in health and medtech innovation training and devising professional curriculum solutions that align with SB’s vision, mission and capabilities. This role provides the opportunity for engagements with local and international stakeholders and partners.

You will be contributing to key national initiatives to uplift Singapore’s Health and Medtech ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify curriculum and training needs of local stakeholders, public and private, to uncover training opportunities.
  • Develop an understanding of the evolving healthtech industry and keep our curriculum relevant to health and medtech innovators of today.
  • To implement educational quality management systems i.e. ISO21001 and/or equivalent, within the programme to standardize training offerings and documentation, and the creation of documents.
  • To maintain and launch courses through SB’s e-learning management system.
  • To augment and develop new training programmes incorporating e-learning and workplace learning that deliver impact to stakeholders in the health and medtech ecosystems of Singapore and the region.
  • To build on and generate new relevant content with the larger SB curriculum team and network.
  • Serve as the point of contact for vendors, educational partners, and internal and external trainers, speakers, and content creators in the development and administration of the curriculum.
  • To facilitate the execution of training and accelerator-like programmes that add value to companies in Singapore’s medtech ecosystem, including short-term customized projects and/or long-term collaboration initiatives.
  • To support SB training initiatives by participating as a trainer and to support follow-on projects where necessary.
  • To manage the Curriculum Assistant and/or temporary staff as direct reports.
  • Any other operational support relating to curriculum development and training initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering.
  • >4 years of experience in medtech/ healthcare industry preferred or higher degree in related area, and/or domain knowledge in health and medtech innovation project is preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and management.
  • Experience with the Biodesign framework is a plus.
  • Experience with SkillsFuture subsidies and funding mechanisms would be beneficial to the role.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international partners.
  • Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
  • Proficient in MS office (Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Excellent listening, presentation, organizational and relationship building skills.
  • Passion for adult education and training.
  • Collaborative and adaptable team player, comfortable in small teams and dynamic, start-up-style environments focused on talent development.

Reporting:

The position will report to the SB Programme Director.
