Purpose of the role

This role serves as the Infrastructure Architecture and Governance Subject Matter Expert (SME) within IAG.

The individual is responsible for defining and driving enterprise infrastructure architecture standards, governance practices, modernization strategies, and secure-by-design principles across Mediacorp's Enterprise infrastructure landscape.

The role is expected to balance both:

  • hands-on infrastructure architecture leadership, and
  • enterprise governance responsibilities.

The individual will work closely with Infrastructure Operations, Cloud, Cybersecurity, PMO, and Project teams to ensure infrastructure solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments are:

  • scalable,
  • secure,
  • supportable,
  • cost-optimized,
  • operationally sustainable, and
  • aligned with enterprise architecture and compliance standards.

This is not a purely operational role or audit/compliance-only governance role. The role requires a strong infrastructure architecture background with the ability to influence standards, drive modernization, and govern enterprise infrastructure direction.

Scope of the role

  • Manage governance exceptions, including risk assessment, documentation, remediation tracking, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Partner with teams to improve governance adoption pragmatically without negatively impacting delivery agility.
Lifecycle & Modernization Management
  • Maintain oversight of infrastructure lifecycle risks, including EOS/EOL, technical debt, patching, and platform supportability.
  • Drive modernization roadmaps and technology refresh strategies in collaboration with Infrastructure Operations teams.
  • Identify gaps in standards, architecture consistency, and operational practices, and drive improvement initiatives.
Security, Risk & Compliance Alignment
  • Embed secure-by-design and compliance-by-design principles into infrastructure architecture.
  • Align infrastructure decisions with enterprise security, audit, and regulatory expectations.
  • Work closely with Cyber & Information Security (CIS) and infrastructure teams to address governance gaps and risk findings.
  • Support audit reviews, governance reporting, and infrastructure risk assessments where required.
Stakeholder & Technical Leadership
  • Act as the key infrastructure architecture SME across Enterprise IT.
  • Influence and align stakeholders across Infrastructure Ops, PMO, CIS, Application Teams, and Vendors.
  • Mentor engineers and technical teams on architecture standards, governance practices, and enterprise infrastructure design principles.
  • Communicate technical risks, architecture decisions, and governance concerns clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the enterprise SME for infrastructure architecture across cloud, compute, storage, network, backup/recovery, identity, and platform services.
  • Define and govern enterprise infrastructure standards, patterns, and architecture principles.
  • Review and validate infrastructure solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and governance requirements.
  • Drive secure, scalable, and operationally sustainable infrastructure architecture practices.
  • Lead modernization initiatives and infrastructure improvement strategies.
  • Maintain oversight of lifecycle, technical debt, and supportability risks.
  • Manage architecture governance exceptions and remediation tracking.
  • Deliver governance updates, risk reporting, and architecture recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support infrastructure strategy planning and enterprise architecture alignment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience across enterprise infrastructure, governance, architecture, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Proven experience governing infrastructure standards and practices across cloud and on-premises environments, including lifecycle, modernization, and operational supportability.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise infrastructure domains such as cloud, virtualization, Windows/Linux, networking, identity, backup/recovery, and IaC.
  • Strong experience working in regulated or governance-heavy environments, with the ability to drive stakeholder alignment, manage governance discussions, and communicate risks and recommendations clearly.
  • Certifications preferred:
  • TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification
  • ITIL Foundation or above
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) and/or AWS Solutions Architect Professional
  • Infrastructure, governance, or security-related certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, AZ-500, FinOps, MS Hyper-V, Kubernetes, etc.)
Leadership & Functional Competences
  • Strong governance-minded infrastructure leader with the ability to influence and challenge teams constructively.
  • Strong stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills across technical and senior audiences.
  • Comfortable handling technical disagreements and governance resistance, with the ability to guide teams on standards and good practices.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructure, governance standards, and operational supportability.
  • Experience in defining standards, governance processes, and managing lifecycle risks such as EOS/EOL, technical debt, and modernization.
