Geylang - Senior Executive (Transport & Distribution)

Job Summary

The Senior Executive is also involved in hands-on inventory management, warehouse operations, and distribution activities.

1. Transportation Management:

• Develop and execute effective transportation strategies to ensure timely, cost-efficient delivery.
• Manage delivery scheduling and routing to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with transport providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to service-level agreements.

1. Distribution Operations:

• Supervise daily warehouse activities to ensure optimal use of storage space.
• Ensure inventory accuracy through monthly physical counts, variance reconciliation, and record maintenance.
• Coordinate inventory transfers and organize floor space per storage design principles.
• Oversee loading/unloading processes to ensure timely, safe, and accurate handling of goods.
• Ensure prompt delivery of supplies and equipment, including handling urgent or ad-hoc deliveries as necessary.

1. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols to protect employees and inventory.
• Monitor and report compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Oversee Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operations by enforcing procedures, resolving breakdowns, and coordinating preventive maintenance.

1. Budget and Cost Control:

• Prepare and manage the transportation and distribution budget.
• Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

1. Team Leadership:

• Lead, coach, and develop the transportation and distribution team.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement professional development plans.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability.

1. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess efficiency, cost, and service quality.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management on transportation and distribution performance.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions based on data analysis and feedback.

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in transportation, distribution, or logistics management.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale logistics and distribution operations.
• Experience in contract negotiation and vendor relationship management.
• Hands-on experience in inventory management and warehouse operations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership capabilities and team management experience.
• Proficiency in logistics software and related systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to handle urgent and ad-hoc deliveries when required.

• Working hours: Mon - Fri (Alternate Saturday)
• Week A: Mon - Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm, Sat 7.30am to 1.30pm
• Week B: Mon - Thu 8.30am to 6pm, Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm
