Procurement Engineer (Project Sourcing)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support various sourcing activities independently to achieve best-in-class sourcing, cost targets and supply risks mitigation for NPIs and Sustaining programs.
• Play a pivotal role to support for new projects/ Transfer programs by acting as the contact window to coordinate procurement activities until the first production run.
• Provide technical sourcing support to R&D to meet CoGS targets and/or new suppliers/ materials for development.
• Ensure materials are released in a timely manner with project core team/ R&D to meet production build dates.
• Proactively advocate for category strategies during the product development phase.
• Support R&D sourcing efforts by identifying and purchasing components during prototype builds.
• Uphold and continuously improve on SAP data integrity.
• Support the procurement team on urgent ad-hoc duties as assigned by the reporting manager.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree Holder in Engineering or relevant qualification from recognized institutions.
• At least 3 years of working experience in R&D and manufacturing industry
• Program management experience is ideal.
• Ability to interpret technical documents (i.e. Schematic/ drawings/ BOM/ specifications) to source for OEM parts (Mechanical & electrical)
• Good knowledge in Mechanical (Plastic / Sheet Metal) and EE / EM Manufacturing including SMT, Cable Assembly.
• Experience in SAP or similar ERP/MRP is an added advantage
• Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel Functions Words, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Outlook)
• A team player with interpersonal skill, proactive mindset.
