As a Marine Cargo Underwriter, you will drive the profitability of a diverse portfolio by evaluating complex risks and managing key market relationships to meet strategic business targets. You will underwrite new and renewal accounts while negotiating pricing and terms with external partners to ensure profitable outcomes.

• Manage capacity and evaluate risk accumulations in accordance with global governance frameworks and local regulatory requirements.
• Execute underwriting processes with precision, ensuring contract certainty and the effective use of proprietary financial modeling tools.
• Oversee the end-to-end policy administration lifecycle, including documentation accuracy and credit control support.
• Drive market engagement initiatives by collaborating with internal distribution and claims teams to acquire and retain key business.

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting within a global matrix organization, demonstrating a strong track record in risk assessment.
• Established network within the regional insurance market with the ability to influence and negotiate with sophisticated stakeholders.
• Proficient in contract drafting and the interpretation of robust legal wordings to ensure portfolio compliance.
• Strong analytical competency with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to draw insightful conclusions.
• Familiarity with modern digital strategies and the use of technology to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
