Overview

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Restaurant Shift Manager to oversee daily operations during assigned shifts. This role is key to ensuring smooth service flow, maintaining high standards of food quality and customer experience, and supporting staff performance.

The Shift Manager will act as the point of contact for both customers and staff, ensuring that the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily shift operations, ensuring service, food safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
  • Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) staff during shifts.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor inventory, supplies, and equipment, reporting shortages or issues to management.
  • Assist in staff training and development to maintain high performance and team morale.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Manage cash handling and shift reports, including sales reconciliation at the end of each shift.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to implement promotional activities, improve workflows, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in restaurant supervision, hospitality, or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of financial transactions, cash handling, and reporting.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and workplace hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Skills
  • Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant software.
  • Experience in training, coaching, or mentoring staff.
