Senior Executive, Lab Operations (Perm | University | West)

Salary: Up to $4,500 per month

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and technically competent Senior Executive, Lab Operations to manage and support the daily operations of IT and lab facilities within a dynamic academic environment. This role is ideal for individuals with strong hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, lab management, and user support.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure operational efficiency and readiness of lab equipment and facilities
• Manage and process requests for lab usage and facilities
• Plan and propose annual budgets for equipment replacement and upgrades
• Monitor and maintain inventory of lab consumables
• Oversee lab access rights and ensure compliance with safety and usage protocols
• Perform general maintenance of lab infrastructure, including air-conditioning, lighting, and fittings

• Maintain accurate records of lab assets and IT equipment
• Manage asset lifecycle processes, including loans, transfers, and disposals
• Support sourcing and evaluation of new equipment and software
• Receive, verify, and document newly procured items

• Set up and configure lab equipment, servers, workstations, and virtual desktop environments
• Provide technical support via email, remote access, and onsite troubleshooting
• Ensure systems comply with prevailing IT policies and standards
• Review and manage lab infrastructure and centralised equipment design

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Relevant experience in managing IT equipment, lab environments, or technical infrastructure
• Hands-on experience in hardware troubleshooting, software installation, and server administration
• Proficiency in Linux systems, including installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Independent, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset
• Comfortable supporting a diverse user base, including staff and students
