AmChamSG seeks a dynamic and experienced Senior Executive/Manager to join our Special Projects and Government Relations team. This full-time position reports to the Head, Special Projects and Government Relations. The team plays a crucial role in developing new programs and initiatives, serving as the primary liaison with the U.S. and Singapore governments, and supporting public relations efforts.
This position offers significant exposure to senior business and government leaders across diverse industries and sectors. The ideal candidate possesses strong emotional intelligence, persuasive communication skills, a professional demeanor, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.This is a people-focused role requiring a detail-oriented self-starter.
Major Responsibilities
Government Engagement- Develop and execute comprehensive government relations strategies to advance AmChamSG
- Establish and maintain relationships with key government officials, agencies, and policymakers
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide insights on potential impacts to AmChamSG and our member companies
- Advocate for policies that align with the goals and values of AmChamSG
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop policy positions and recommendations
- Prepare and deliver compelling advocacy materials, e.g., policy briefs, publications, and position papers
- Work with senior leadership to align government relations strategies with the organization's overall strategic plan
- Identify and prioritize key government relations opportunities and challenges
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of government relations efforts
- Draft letters to government officials to invite them to participate as the guest of honor, deliver keynote address and/or take part in fireside chat or panel
- Develop talking points, speeches, presentations, and other communications
As required, provide logistical support for the Chamber's events.
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
Strong candidates will have strong writing skills, a sophisticated understanding of relationship management, and demonstrated success with project management. They must be able to acclimate quickly, assess internal and external priorities and establish the relationships they need to move forward and execute.The candidate must be able to work independently yet collaboratively in a high-performing, fast-paced environment.
- Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree
- Applicants with 3-5 years of experience are encouraged to apply
- Applicants must be organized, have strong attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong oral communication and writing skills with demonstrated ability to effectively engage with senior stakeholders in business and government
- Able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, complete workload within established timeframes
- Applicants should be self-motivated, results oriented and eager to learn
- Must be able to work independently and follow through on assignments
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively cultivate internal and external relationships
