About the Role
We are looking for a forward-thinking and purpose-driven Assistant Director to lead, integrate, and elevate communications, stakeholder engagement, and institutional outreach efforts. This is a key leadership role partnering with senior management to drive the organisation’s communications vision, brand positioning, and engagement initiatives both locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Leadership- Develop and implement integrated corporate communications strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Lead change communications to support operational transformation and strategic initiatives.
- Build and mentor a high-performing communications and engagement team.
- Foster a data-driven, collaborative, and innovative communications culture.
- Plan and manage events and engagement programmes in healthcare and community settings.
- Oversee hosted visits for government leaders, donors, academic partners, and VIP guests.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver initiatives that enhance the organisation’s reputation and presence.
- Develop strategic brand, marketing, and communications plans to enhance the organisation’s position within the healthcare sector.
- Lead integrated marketing campaigns, digital strategy, media relations, and stakeholder communications.
- Oversee content development, editorial standards, and brand consistency across platforms.
- Translate clinical, research, and academic achievements into audience-relevant narratives.
- Leverage data analytics to track, evaluate, and optimise campaign performance.
- Strengthen internal communications to align with institutional values and change management priorities.
- Develop workforce engagement initiatives, storytelling opportunities, and recognition programmes.
- Lead internal campaigns that build culture, shared purpose, and organisational pride.
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies.
- Prepare marketing and communications materials for donor engagement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising regulations and reporting requirements.
- Provide regular progress updates to leadership.
- Oversee key projects, managing timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Monitor project milestones and deliver regular updates to stakeholders.
- Provide flexible support for cross-team projects and evolving institutional priorities.
- Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant leadership experience in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, or related fields.
- Strong experience in strategic planning, media relations, digital marketing, and brand management.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and project management skills.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with senior stakeholders and diverse teams.
